Question 1 - If you could give one piece of advice to a new Tableau starter what would it be?
Colin Wojtowycz: I would advise newbies to participate in community projects such as Makeover Monday, which will help develop their practical skills, grow their network of contacts and develop their portfolio.
Question 2 - If you could add a new feature to Tableau, what would it be?
Colin Wojtowycz: I am excited about the launch of Tableau Prep as I think it will help to be able to prep data visually and then integrate directly into tableau for analysis.
Question 3 - Favourite viz you have made?
Colin Wojtowycz: My favourite viz this year would be a storyboard I have just published called 'Feathered Friends' Feeding Frenzy'! This is a collaborative data project with my wife, who collated 10 days of bird watching data from our garden for her blog @green_city_gdns.
Question 4 - What’s the best data book you’ve read recently?
Colin Wojtowycz: Good charts by Scott Berinato is great as it delves into what makes a chart useful as well as nice to look at. It is a really accessible book to read as well.
Question 5 - Do you have a data goal for this year?
Colin Wojtowycz: My immediate data goal is to pass my Tableau Desktop Qualified Associate exam, which is imminent!
